Prior to setting up Clavis, Nasir was the Executive Vice President at a firm of consulting actuaries known as Nauman Associates headquartered in Lahore, Pakistan. He was one of the two founding members when the Firm was formed in 1985.

Nasir helped to develop Nauman Associates to be one of the leading suppliers of actuarial services in Pakistan having clients in Africa, Middle East, Central Asia, India and of course within Pakistan itself. Nasir was the technical lead throughout his stay and developed most of the systems and procedures; he also spearheaded the Firm's international business efforts.

Throughout his working life Nasir has been involved in the actuarial field, having started at State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan in 1983 and working there until he left to become one of the founders of Nauman Associates.

In 1983 Nasir returned to Pakistan after having lived and undertaken his schooling and higher education in the UK. He received his Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from University of Birmingham in Mathematics and became at Associate of the Society of Actuaries (USA) in 1992.
